| Hey guys- I really don't post on these boards much at all, but any help or input that I can get from you guys is appreciated. I drive a 96TT with 89k. I am pretty close to buying some new wheels for the Z - I need tires in a bad way, so I figure I might as well kill the proverbial 2 birds with the one stone. I'm currently sitting on some curbed up stock wheels with 3 different kinds of tires. I know, I know, it was like that when I bought it. I will also throw out the disclosure that my Z is heading down to YugoBernie whenever he can fit it in to get some transmission work done, so I'm not driving it right now. When I started shopping for Z's 2 and a half years ago, the SSR GT1's jumped out at me as some of the best looking wheels for the car. I know it's a personal choice, but I just haven't found any that I like more than these. There is a set for sale here locally (I'm in Baltimore.) He has them listed at $1790 on tt.net. I offered him $1500 a few months ago, and he said that would work. However, I had some unexpected expenses come up after I made him the offer (emergency dog surgery to the tune of $4,000, good times), and I wasn't able to buy them then. I have since come up with the $1500, and he says that both his offer of $1500 and his ad on tt.net have "expired" and the new price is $1900. I guess what I'm trying to gauge from you guys is, will I be able to find a good set of GT1's and brand new tires for less than $1900? Or should I just sack up and pay this much for them? I really do like the wheels, and I know that they aren't too easy to find, but based on the posts he's made on this board, I don't really know if dealing with him is the best idea. Thanks for reading a long post - lurking on these boards really helped me out when shopping for a Z, and I still try to pick up knowledge when I can. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
